BIO
Jack Young of Jay, VT, joins a strong class of talent on the Stifel U.S. Cross Country Ski Team B Team. A student-athlete of Colby College and recent graduate, Jack had a standout 2024-25 year, where he skied his first-ever World Cup race in Canmore, Alberta, and not only held his own but shocked the world's best when he qualified for the sprint heats in his first-ever World Cup sprint race, in 11th.
During the 2024-25 season, he was a consistent racer on the FIS Cross Country World Cup and a member of the 2025 World Championships Team. During the World Cup season, he secured three top-20 results, with a career-best 12th-place result in the Davos World Cup skate sprint.
Jack grew up with skiing all around him. Growing into the sport as a part of the Bill Koch Youth League, Jack didn't become competitive with skiing until relatively late. Even more unique, Jack was a high school quarterback before becoming a top-30 World Cup skier. It wasn't until college that he decided to focus on skiing. Colby College brought Jack in, with the coach taking a chance on the quarterback. Years later, with a degree in hand, Jack is focusing entirely on skiing, racing at the highest level of the sport, representing his country in the process.
