U.S. Ski & Snowboard maintains an active presence within the International Ski Federation (FIS), the international governing body of skiing and snowboarding. The U.S. Ski & Snowboard delegation comprised of both staff and volunteers works strategically through their positions on FIS committees to grow the sport and to push for U.S. Ski & Snowboard athlete interests internationally. U.S. Ski & Snowboard Immediate Past Chairman, Dexter Paine represents the USA on the FIS Council.
Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee serves as both the National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee for the United States. As such, the USOPC is responsible for the training, entering and funding of U.S. teams for the Olympic, Paralympic, Youth Olympic, Pan American and Parapan American Games, while serving as a steward of the Olympic Movement throughout the country.

The Nomination and Governance Committee is comprised of five (5) members of the Board, representing a cross-section of backgrounds, selected by the Board Chair, and includes at least two eligible athlete representative, selected by the Athletes’ Council.
The Foundation provides fundraising, development, communication, education and marketing support as requested by U.S. Ski & Snowboard. It contributes to the management and business expertise toward the realization of the vision and mission of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. It provides support for the identification and training of skiing and snowboarding athletes with the potential to become elite athletes. In addition, it provides support for the educational needs and aspirations of U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s elite athletes.
The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Executive Committee consists of five voting members, including the Chairman; the Vice Chair; one Discipline Committee representative designated by the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Chairman; one representative of the Foundation designated by the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Chairman; and one eligible athlete selected by the Athletes’ Council.
