PARK CITY, UT (Jan. 29) - Olympic and World Champion Lindsey Vonn (Vail. CO) has committed to returning to the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup tour in hopes of racing for gold at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail-Beaver Creek, CO and says she'll compete through the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. The 2010 Olympic downhill champion, who will sit out the Sochi Olympics while recovering from ACL surgery, delivered her intentions during an exlusive interview with NBC's TODAY Show on Jan. 28. Vonn will serve as a special correspondent for TODAY and NBC Sports during the Feb. 7-23 Olympics in Russia. Vonn holds a record 17 Audi FIS Alpine World Cup titles including 59 World Cup wins, three shy of tying Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell for the women's all time record.
