LILLEHAMMER, Norway (Dec. 7) - Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO) came from deep in the pack, moving up from 36th after the jump to finish eighth after scoring the second fastest cross country time. Norway's Mikko Kokslien, however, came up even further, starting 38th after jumping and scoring the fastest cross country leg to win. Adam Loomis (Eau Claire, WI) was 35th for a career best. The World Cup tour takes a short break while eyes now focus on the Continental Cup races in Park City later this week.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Bryan Fletcher scored his best finish since last January, taking the eighth spot after jumping to 36th. Fletcher had the second fastest cross country time, matched only by event winner Mikko Kokslien of Norway.
  • It was Fletcher's best finish since last January.
  • Adam Loomis scored a career best 35th.
  • The World Cup tour will resume in two weeks at Ramsau, Austria. Many top athletes will travel to the USA for a pair of Continental Cup events Thursday through Saturday.
  • Warm temperatures have forced a change in venue for the cross country events. Jumping will stay at the Utah Olympic Park on Thursday and Friday afternoon, with cross country at nearby Gorgoza Park tubing hill Friday and Saturday morning.

QUOTES
Bryan Fletcher

Today was a great race. I was really happy with my skiing both physically and tactically. Getting in the top-10 was a big confidence booster and a huge relief heading into the week break. I am really looking forward to Ramsau's events in two weeks to continue making progress.
