HINZENBACH, Austria (Feb. 1, 2015) - Nita Englund (Florence, WI) soared back atop the U.S. World Cup leaderboard, finishing seventh in a FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Hinzenbach. Germany's Carina Vogt finally snapped the win streak of Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stoltz with a narrow victory. 

It was the final weekend of selection events for the 2015 Nordic World Championships in Falun. Englund now stands in 11th, with Sarah Hendrickson (Park City, UT) 13th, Jessica Jerome (Park City) 16th and Abby Hughes 35th.

Englund started the day strong, jumping into third in the first round with an 89.0 meter ride, but only managed 86.0 meters on her second.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nita Englund scored her third top-10 finish, taking seventh in Hinzenbach.
  • Sarah Hendrickson finished 15th, Tara Garaghty-Moats 26th, Jessica Jerome 27th and Abby Hughes 28th.
  • The World Championship team is expected to be named February 9.
