Beaver Creek to Host More Races

BEAVER CREEK, CO (Nov. 30) - The International Ski Federation announced Wednesday that three Audi FIS Alpine World Cup races which could not be held next week at Val d'Isere, France will be moved to Beaver Creek. A men's giant slalom and slalom, plus a women's super G, will now be held next Tuesday through Thursday at Beaver Creek. The announcement follows discussions with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association which established a business plan to be able to host the events at Beaver Creek.

The race will mark the first time the women have raced in Beaver Creek, also bringing Vail native Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) to compete on her home mountain for the first time in a World Cup race. It also provides an opportunity for World Cup giant slalom champion Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) to get another shot on a course which provided him with a victory in the Audi Birds of Prey World Cup a year ago.
