General Key Facts:
- The Woodward Copper Halfpipe on Copper's lower Main Vein trail is the first Olympic-size halfpipe to open in North America every season.
- Copper Mountain is home to the only pre-season, full-length Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team downhill training course.
- The massive 22-foot-tall pipe, the Olympic qualifying standard, is nearly 550 feet in length and 70 feet wide and has an 18-degree pitch.
- Athletes typically perform about five skills throughout the length of the halfpipe.
- Those wanting to watch the event can hike to the base of the halfpipe from Center Village and stand along the bottom of the pipe or its left wall during the competition
Toyota U.S. Grand Prix Facts
- The Toyota U.S. Grand Prix is the longest-running winter action sports tour and has been a major part of the Stifel U.S. Freeski Team and Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team Olympic qualification series since 1998. It has launched Olympic medalists toward medals, including Chloe Kim, Jamie Anderson, Red Gerard, Shaun White, David Wise and Nick Goepper.
- In the qualifications phase, the best one of two runs counts. In the finals, the best one run of three runs counts.
