Teller Top 20 in Are Skicross

ARE, Sweden (March 16) – Olympian John Teller (Mammoth Lakes, CA) skied into the top 20 Sunday in the second skicross event of the World Cup double-header weekend in Are, Sweden. Thomas Zangerl and Andreas Matt of Austria went one-two in the final with Armin Niederer of Switzerland third. Next, the men head to La Plagne, France for the final skicross event of the season next Sunday.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Olympian John Teller (Mammoth Lakes, CA) skied into 20th Sunday in the second skicross event of the World Cup double-header weekend in Are, Sweden.
  • The result put Teller in 12th in the skicross standings, just 13 points from the top ten, a mark he will be gunning to reach at World Cup Finals next Sunday.
  • Fellow U.S. athlete Joe Swensson (Killington, VT) finished 24th on the challenging, world-class course.
  • Thomas Zangerl and Andreas Matt of Austria went one-two in the final with Armin Niederer of Switzerland third.
  • Inclement weather plagued the course for much of the week, but a break in the storms allowed two great competitions on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Next, the men head to La Plagne, France for the last skicross event of the season at World Cup Finals next Sunday.
