Michael was a 2022 bronze-medal-winner U.S. men's relay team member at the 2022 FIS Junior World Championships. He joined the Development Team for the 2022-23 season and has since moved up to the B Team. During the 2023-24 season, he collected three top-5 results at the U.S. National Championships, including a second-place result in the classic sprint at Solider Hollow Nordic Center. Then, he went on to start his career first World Cup in Canmore, Alberta. Outside of his goals in skiing, Michael said that dunking a basketball is his "biggest goal in life".
