World Championships Team Announced

SIERRA NEVADA, Spain (Mar. 6, 2017) – A team of 23 talented snowboarders is heading to the 2017 FIS Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain March 7-19. The U.S. snowboarders will compete in halfpipe, slopestyle, big air, snowboardcross, parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom.

U.S. Snowboarding will send a highly competitive team to Sierra Nevada, including 2016 FIS slopestyle crystal globe winner Chris Corning (Silverthorne, CO) and 2016 LAAX Open halfpipe winner Arielle Gold (Steamboat Springs, CO). Accompanying the halfpipe, slopestyle and big air teams will be a star-packed snowboardcross team, including Olympic medalist Alex Deibold (Boulder, CO) and World Cup winner Hagen Kearney (Telluride, CO), and a strong alpine snowboarding crew highlighted by Olympian Justin Reiter (Steamboat Springs, CO) and Michael Trapp (Steamboat Springs, CO), who finished in the top 10 at two recent World Cup parallel giant slaloms.

Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton Mountain, VT), who has taken gold in all four World Championship snowboardcross events in which she has competed, will be carrying the flag for team USA at the opening ceremonies.
