Coach of the Year Awards
Each year, U.S. Ski & Snowboard recognizes outstanding coaches in each discipline. The annual Coach of the Year awards are divided into two categories in each sport.
The International Coach of the Year awards are given to individuals in each sport who works primarily in the international competition arena including Olympic Winter Games, World Championships and World Cup.
The Development Coaches of the Year in each sport are awarded to coaches who work primarily in development programs through U.S. Ski & Snowboard member clubs and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard national development program.
From each sport International and Domestic Coach of the Year awards, an overall U.S. Ski & Snowboard Coach of the Year is selected for each category. The overall International and Domestic Coach of Year recipients are then submitted as our nominees for the USOC Coach of Year awards.
The highest honor awarded to a coach in Olympic Sports is the USOC Coach of the Year. This award is selected from nominees by all 47 Olympic Sport Federations under the USOC. Coaches from US Ski & Snowboard sports have received this award an incredible 6 times since it's inception in 1996.
