Snowboard Training System
The Snowboard Training System was developed cooperatively by key U.S. Ski & Snowboard club coaches, U.S. Snowboard Team coaches, and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Sport Education staff.
The Training Systems are based on their knowledge, experience, and research into the science of athlete development. The matrix provides a wireframe with general information in the primary domains contributing to excellence in snowboarding. Coaches, athletes, and parents can check their programs against this framework to evaluate and plan their future direction.
U.S. Ski & Snowboard Training Systems are divided into six Phases of Development and seven Domains, please refer to the Resources section for additional information.
Although the United States has seen great success in snowboarding at the international level, we can do better at all levels. The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Training Systems are based on scientific research to develop a systematic approach based on the concepts of biological and training age. Putting the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Training Systems to work will result in smarter coaching, better competitions, more enjoyment, and ultimately greater success. The outcome is a better experience for everyone involved.
