Position Summary:
The Western Region Manager will work with the Western Region Director to oversee the operations of the Western Region, and will assist the Alpine Development Director with national operations.
* To coordinate and support the delivery of U.S. Ski & Snowboard programs, products, policies, and services to members participating in activities in the Western Region in an organized, efficient, effective, and timely manner.
* To administer athletic projects, promotions, race calendars, policies and procedures of U.S. Ski & Snowboard and the Western Region as they relate to increasing the quality of athletic experience and quantity of member athletes and coaches partaking in those programs.
* To contribute to the national initiatives of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Development department

Desirable Experiences and Education
* U.S. Ski & Snowboard experience as a competitor, coach, official, or club leader
* U.S. Ski & Snowboard coach’s certification
* U.S. Ski & Snowboard official’s certification
* Governance coordination: meeting organization, planning, hosting, and follow-up
* Website maintenance
National Responsibilities
* Support national development initiatives, training and competition projects
o Administer select development projects as assigned by the National Development Director
* Support the Alpine committees and working groups for U.S. Ski & Snowboard Congress
* Manage the FIS foreign intent to compete, notification, and entry process
Regional Responsibilities:
* Membership support:
o Develop and communicate information to members and clubs via email lists, newsletters, the website, and competition guides
o Respond to telephone and email inquiries in a timely fashion
o Provide a high-level presence for U.S. Ski & Snowboard, as appropriate, at youth, regional, and national events and projects
* Manage Western Region accounts
o Assist the Regional Director in the preparation of an annual budget
o Collect and account for revenue including head tax and project fees
o Control and account for payables
o Reconcile all accounts annually
* Administer Western Region development projects and competition trips as dictated by the yearly training and competition plan
* Support the Regional Director in the planning and implementation of the regional calendar
* Manage the regional intent to compete site, notification, and entry process
* Liaise with leadership of the Western Region ACC to coordinate meetings and conference calls, including the timely distribution of agendas, action item proposals, and minutes
Other Provisions
* All policies of U.S. Ski & Snowboard regarding general operations, staff policies and procedures, and conduct as outlined in the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Staff Manual are in effect for this position.
* Cooperative and effective relationships with other staff are absolutely necessary. U.S. Ski & Snowboard staff members are expected to provide support outside their own areas of responsibilities when necessary and appropriate.
