BIO
Cooper Cornelius, a Colorado native, previously spent a few seasons with the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team before heading to Denver University to rip the NCAA circuit. At Denver, Cornelius scored DU Skiing’s 2022 Alpine Rookie of the Year with his six top-10 finishes, and his second place showing at his first University race. Cornelius is a strong skier across all disciplines. In the 2021 season he was fourth in super-G (Dec. 13) and picked up first and second-place finishes in giant slalom at the NorAm Cup in Panorama, B.C. He placed fourth in alpine combined and super-G at the NorAm Cup at Whiteface Mountain, N.Y.
His favorite discipline is super-G because it is the perfect mix between downhill and giant slalom. When he was young, he looked up to tech ace Erik Schlopy.
"When you are able to get down a course and say "Wow, that was a lot of fun I want to do that again," you are reminded of why you love the sport."
