Criteria and Quota Information
Moguls and Dual Moguls
Note
- Event quotas depend on an event organizer's ability to provide two courses for the three age groups.
- The U.S. Freestyle Ski and Snowboard staff will work with the event organizer to determine the maximum quota based on the capacity of the event venue and schedule.
- Event quotas will be published on the event criteria page on the website.
Quota
- Quotas for age-group competitions will be based on a percentage of each age group within the entire age-eligible population.
- Quotas for each age group will be determined using the projected population from the previous season’s last published FFSP List.
- Quotas for the genders within each age group will be determined based on a ratio of the age group’s total population. Each age group’s gender will have a minimum of 40% of the total age group.
Moguls and Dual Moguls Quota
Total Moguls Quota*: 250 athletes. The quota will be filled from the criteria listed below.
Age Group | Girls | Boys |
---|---|---|
U15 | 33 | 50 |
U17 | 43 | 59 |
U19 | 32 | 34 |
Total Dual Moguls Quota*: 225 athletes. The quota will be filled from the criteria listed.
Age Group | Girls | Boys |
---|---|---|
U15 | 28 | 46 |
U17 | 39 | 54 |
U19 | 31 | 32 |
*PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE THE STARTING QUOTA NUMBERS. THE NUMBERS ADJUST BASED ON CROSS OVER WHEN ATHLETES QUALIFY FOR AN EVENT BASED ON QUALIFICATION TO ANOTHER EVENT.
Moguls and Dual Moguls Criteria
- The athletes will qualify for the U.S. Junior National Championships for moguls and dual moguls from the FFSP List #4 based on the quota for the event for the following age groups: U15 (inclusive of any U13’s that qualify within the U15 age group quota), U17 and U19
- Qualified athletes in moguls or dual moguls will be granted starts in both moguls and dual moguls events. These athletes must be ranked on the FFSP List for selection in the discipline they didn’t qualify for.
- All divisions are guaranteed a minimum of three men and three women in the age-group competitions. If there are fewer than three in any age-group competition, athletes may be allocated by the division.
- Declined invitations will be allocated to alternates until all quota spots are filled using the registration system outlined below. All alternates must be registered and paid prior to entry into the event.
- The host club/team of the U.S. Junior National Championships can enter one athlete per discipline, per gender, to the U.S. Junior National Championships as a host allocation spot. This does not apply to each age group.
- Divisions may not add to or change requirements for the invited athletes described in this section apart from those spots designated as the divisional allocations.
- Foreign athletes will be allocated three spots per gender per discipline per age group above the U.S. athlete quota. A foreign athlete must be ranked within the age group quota of the FFSP List #4.

- The invitations will be posted on the event criteria page (here) on February 28, 2025, at noon MST.
- The first round of invited athletes are required to register within 48 hours (by March 1, 2025, at noon MST) or their invitation will expire.
- Alternates will be granted active invitation status as invites are declined or expire.
- Alternates have 24 hours to register once their invitation is active. (Active invitation = green light blinking.)
