Wallisch Grabs Dew Tour Cup

SNOWBASIN, UT (Feb. 12) - Tom Wallisch (Pittsburg, PA) finished second in men's slopestlye to win the Dew Tour Cup at Snowbasin. Nick Goepper (Lawrenceburg, IN) won the competition while Bobby Brown (Breckenridge, CO) was third for the men and Devin Logan (West Dover, VT) captured third for the women. Wallish wanted the Dew Tour hat trick but still became the first athlete to win the X Games and Dew Tour Cup in the same year.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tom Wallisch (Pittsburg, PA) captured the Dew Tour Cup and Athlete of the Year award with a second-place finish at the tour's final event.
  • Wallisch's run consisted of: A switch lip 270 pretzel 270 on the down rail, to switch on frontside switchup backside 450 out, to switch on to cannon rail backside pretzel 450 out to switch. He hit up the jumps with a switch left double cork 1080 Japan grab to switch right double cork 1080 Japan grab.
  • Nick Goepper (Lawrenceburg, IN) won the event in snowy conditions while Bobby Brown (Breckenridge, CO) was third
  • The third-place finish was an early birthday present for Devin Logan who turns 19 on Friday.
  • Kaya Turski of Quebec took the win and Dew Tour Cup for women's ski slopestyle; Australia's Anna Segal came in second place.
  • Teammates Keri Herman (Breckenridge, CO) and Ashley Battersby (Park City, UT) came in 5th and 6th.

I’m not much of a go for broke, last run huck yourself, try something new kind of guy. I’d rather see skiing be smoother. Just full, complete, good runs. I never really try to huck myself second run. I just go for cleaning it up. Making is as smooth as possible. And it’s worked for me in the past, so I’m going to keep doing it.

I was struggling on the course the last few days. I’m just stoked that I’m on the podium, and Goepper and Wallisch killed it today. I’m just happy to end the Dew Tour on the podium.
