NTG Athlete Cashman to Race Longines Future Ski Champions

You’ve heard about ski racing stars like Lindsey Vonn and Ted Ligety. You’ve probably heard about the rising D Team stars like Alex Ginnis and Breezy Johnson. But have you heard of Keely Cashman? If not, tune in.

Cashman is a National Training Group (NTG) athlete—a USSA-formulated organization that brings together the top U.S. junior athletes to study, ski and travel together. And this year, Cashman’s outstanding performance caused her to be named as the only U16 American girl to participate in the second annual Longines Future Ski Champions. This GS race—which takes place on Dec. 20, 2014—gives 13 female skiers from 13 different countries a chance to compete against each other in Val d’Isere, France, immediately after the women’s Audi FIS World Cup race.

Like so many successful American ski racers—such as Marco Sullivan, Travis Ganong and Julia Mancuso—Cashman grew up racing at Squaw Valley for the Squaw Valley Ski Team. After a phenomenal 2014 year, Cashman qualified for the NTG through her results at USSA National U16 Championships, where she grabbed a fourth place in GS.
