QUEBEC CITY (Feb. 11, 2017) – Julia Marino (Westport, CT) added another impressive accolade to her breakout 2017 season with a second-place finish at the Jamboree big air event in downtown Quebec City on Saturday.
Marino, who won a gold medal in slopestyle at the X Games in January, said that she’s happy to see her hard work paying off, and looks forward to continuing her momentum into the slopestyle event on Sunday. “I’m definitely really stoked on the result,” Marino said after the event. “It’s so great to see good results come from hard work and I just want to keep it rolling.”
Anna Gasser of Austria won the event for the ladies, also claiming the FIS big air crystal globe. New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski Synnott earned her first World Cup podium with a third-place performance.
For the men, Canadian Mark McMorris claimed both the win and the crystal globe. Fellow Canadian Max Parrot was second and Anton Mamaev of Russia was third.
The Quebec City event was the final stop of the three-part FIS big air Super Series. Up next for the U.S. Snowboarding athletes is the World Cup slopestyle event at nearby Stoneham Mountain Resort on Sunday.
