Coaches are the backbone of U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s development pipeline, providing leadership to athletes through U.S. Ski & Snowboard club programs. U.S. Ski & Snowboard also provides coaches with an in-depth sport education program, helping them achieve various certification levels in their sport. 

Coaching Fundamentals Course Requirement:

• All coach members who have not completed their first level of U.S. Ski & Snowboard certification are required to complete the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Coaching Fundamentals Course.
• If you believe you are a Level 100 or higher certified coach, stop now and contact U.S. Ski & Snowboard Sport Education at sporteducation@usskiandsnowboard.org or call 435.647.2050 before completing your U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership registration.

SafeSport and Background Screening Requirements:

U.S. Ski & Snowboard Members members who are turning 18 years of age during the season or older who are in regular contact with or in a position of authority over athletes are required to complete periodic background screening and annual SafeSport training prior to being issued a U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership. (Short term members and some alpine masters are excluded)

Introduction to Avalanches Course Requirement:

• The Introduction to Avalanches Course is completed through your online account

  • Members 17 years of age and older must have their own online account to gain access to the course

  • Linked members will not have access to this course

• A link to the Introduction to Avalanches Course will be provided on the confirmation page and within your https://my.usskiandsnowboard.org account if completion is required.
