Third Dew Tour Win For Anderson

By U.S. Ski & Snowboard
December, 12 2014

BRECKENRIDGE, CO (Dec. 12, 2014) - For the third year in a row, Jamie Anderson (S. Lake Tahoe, CA) walked away with top honors at the Dew Tour, over Finland's Enni Rukajaravri and New Zealand's Christy Prior.

Anderson—known for putting together consistent gold medal runs—showed up on Friday nursing a rib injury sustained in practice earlier this week. But it didn’t seem to matter, as she landed a cab 900 in her first run. It looked like Anderson was on the mend and on her way to the top of the podium with a 96.25 score. While Finland’s Enni Rukajaravri and New Zealand rider Christy Prior both put down 90-point runs, Anderson’s first run would prove to be unbeatable.

Snowboarding Dew Tour action continues Saturday, December 13 with the men’s and women’s halfpipe finals. Veteran Kelly Clark (West Dover, VT) and teenage phenom Chloe Kim (La Palma, CA) will compete for the Dew Tour title on the women’s side. On the men’s side, Americans Taylor Gold (Steamboat Springs, CO), Chase Josey (Hailey, ID) and Matt Ladley (Chicago, IL) will look to outdo Chinese sensation Yiewi Zhang and French rider Arthur Longo.

QUOTES
Jamie Anderson, Dew Tour Winner
I was really stoked to land [the first run] because I wanted to do a new trick, but I wasn’t totally there. I actually wanted to go for a cab 1080, but ended up at 900. Then, I tried to do a frontside 1080, but lost myself in the air. It’s hard! I watch these boys make it look so easy. I know I’m a good rider, but I’m still working on it. Not by any means is [contest riding] getting easy for me. I am inspired by these ladies every day.

I’m feeling so inspired to ride. I kid you not, I was in tears two nights ago and didn’t think I was going to be able to ride today. I am beyond grateful for what happened today.
