Copper Skiers Open Speed Center

By U.S. Ski & Snowboard
October, 31 2012

COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Oct. 31) – It wasn't a typical Halloween at Copper Mountain as over 200 skiers and riders spent the day carving turns on the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center – the only full-length downhill training facility open anywhere in the world at this time of year. The Oct. 31 open was nearly two weeks earlier than the 2011 inaugural season. U.S. Ski Team athletes provided guests with a VIP tour of the facility including a "course inspection" followed by freeskiing and a relaxed aprs ski BBQ in the East Village. Training begins in earnest on Nov. 1 and will continue on the exclusive legacy venue through mid December as U.S. Ski Team athletes prepare for the 2013 Audi FIS Alpine World Cup season.
