VAIL, CO (March 7, 2015) — Jamie Anderson (South Lake Tahoe, CA) earned her fourth slopestyle win at the 33rd annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships presented by MINI taking home $45,000 and the 2015 US Open slopestyle title. Eric Beauchemin (Mont Blanc, MI) finished sixth in the most progressive men’s slopestyle competition ever.

Anderson took the lead early with an unbeatable high score of 90.95 on her first run, putting down a cab 270 to tailslide, switch boardslide to regular, boardslide 270 out on the upper rail section, into a backside 540, cab 720 nosegrab, to a switch backside 540. The rest of the women’s field attempted to challenge Anderson’s run but fell short in all three runs. Austria’s Anna Gasser took second place with an 82.55 and Spencer O’ Brien of Canada landed a backside 900 for the second time in competition history and took third with an 82.05.

“This event was pretty heavy pressure. It’s the biggest event of the year and the last one so I really wanted to ride strong and consistent,” said Anderson. “I worked really hard on my rail line the last couple days and I wanted that to be locked down. So for me I just wanted to have a consistent run top to bottom.”

In the men’s competition it was a day of firsts. Beauchemin earned sixth place landing his first ever backside triple cork 1440. Canada’s Mark McMorris landed the first ever back-to-back triple cork 1440s for second place and in dramatic clutch last run, Japan’s Yuki Kadono landed back-to-back triple cork 1620s for the win. Tyler Nicholson of Canada took third.
