Freestyle Elite Aerial Development Program Head Coach

Position Summary
USSA has established a goal of being "Best in the World", the Freestyle Elite Aerial Development Program (EADP) Head Coach is a key strategy to supporting this goal. The commitment and passion of the individual hired for this position will directly reflect on the long and short-term athletic goals of the EADP program. Additionally, the ability of this individual to continue to challenge and educate themselves and the individuals around them will be essential to maintaining the highest service possible to the athletes.
The Freestyle EADP Head Coach works in conjunction with the Head Aerial Coach on all EADP and National Team activities. This position includes responsibility for athletic and administrative duties as assigned by the Program Director and Head Aerial Coach.
This person reports to the Program Director in coordination with the Head Aerial Coach and is overtime exempt position. The duties are performed on a daily basis as needed.
Athletic Responsibilities
Program
• Head coach of Lake Placid Elite Aerial Development Program (EADP).
• On and off hill technical coaching during preparation and competition periods with emphasis on the development and talent ID phase.
• Develop a calendar of events including training and competition schedule, as well as a competition plan for EADP Athletes.
• Assist in coordination with the COE and OTC conditioning coach to insure physical training programs are carried out.
• Assist in coordination with the COE and OTC physical therapist regarding athlete injuries and athlete rehabilitation.
Athletes
• Assist all EADP athletes in establishing technical, physical, and mental goals for training and competition, as well as a realistic approach to achieving those goals.
• Develop a training plan for EADP athletes, which will allow athletes to achieve their goals.
• Implement a technical, physical, and mental training plan for each aerial development athlete, which agrees with his or her individual goals.
• Assist recruitment of athletes from other acrobatic sports such as trampoline, gymnastics and diving, as well as assist in identifying new talent.
• Assist in training of select National Team athletes in Lake Placid where appropriate
Staff
• In conjunction with Team Coaches and Program Director, coordinate involvement of additional staff (i.e. assistant EADP coach, other USSA departments, USOC, shadow coaches, organizers, etc.).
• Remain in direct communication with Head Coaches and Program Director at all times.
Position Requirements
• Knowledge of technical aspects of coaching freestyle aerial athletes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to follow through with projects on own and within a group.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Accounting and budget management skills.
• Computer skills to include: Dartfish, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype, Google docs/drive and the Internet.
