In his rookie season on the World Cup in 2014, Troy Murphy had nine starts and earned two fifth-place finishes, which was enough to win the FIS Rookie of the Year award for 2014. He continued to excel in 2015 with four top-10 finishes, including a career-best fourth place in Val. St. Come, Canada. Murphy ended his season with a moguls national title. 2016 was challenging for Murphy as he battled through multiple injuries, but he was able to post two top 10 finished on the World Cup. Murphy continued to progress in 2017 with six top-10 finishes and a sixth in the world ranking. His fast skiing and dynamic air package will be a driving force in international competition for years to come.
